CSCC Sevens really are Magnificent!

It's always nice to share a good news story. The grid for the opening, live-streamed round of the Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens Series has now reached a capacity 40 cars! Our races at Donington Park, on Sunday 29th March will feature a brilliant variety of Seven-type cars including Caterham, MK, GBS, Ma7da, Westfield and Locost, shod with a variety of treaded and slick tyres.

The series is open to Sevens of all types and specifications, so it’s fantastic to see such a wide mix of cars back racing with us again. The field includes everything from 1600cc Caterham Academy cars through to highly-developed cars running on slick tyres, creating surely the most diverse and interesting Sevens grids in existence.

We will start to take reserves for this race, so if you would like to grab one of these places, along with a garage, you can join the club, register and enter via our website. https://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/

29th March 2026 will look a little like this, but with more than double the amount of cars!

It's no secret that grids have ebbed and flowed in previous years, but the latter part of last season saw a renewed interest in the series, giving confidence. A return to the spectacular grid numbers we got so used to ten years ago is thanks in no small part to the dedicated personal effort of former Marshal and current Series Representative Tom Suckling, the loyalty of a core of drivers and preparers and the stubbornness of CSCC management to not let the series fail.

If you have yet to race with us, or haven't done so in a while, you can view our current regulations and classes via this page: https://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/magnificent-sevens

It's impossible to thank everyone for their support, but a hat tip must go to those drivers and preparers who still supported us in times of smaller grids, or so freely gave their advice to refine the regulations and helped promote the series and club.

Throughout it all, Gold Arts have been title sponsor, with Doug Newman Snr and Jnr both continuing to take an active interest in the club, with them attending our Brands Hatch meeting and taking part in last season's track day.
