We’re delighted to welcome Claire Archer to the team in the Corsham office.

The directors would like to thank Jessica Rushforth and Danny Morris, for their many hours working through more than 80 C.V's and application letters in the summer. Their efforts shortlisting candidates for interview was effective and saved the office large amounts of time.

Claire started full time, just in time for our Oulton Park meeting. As is typical of a small office, her role is varied, but will be very involved with administration and membership, whilst helping members front of house, at race meetings.

If you are at the NEC Classic show this week, you will get to meet her on Thursday (set-up day) and Friday). In her own words, we asked Claire to share a little about herself:

Claire joins us with a lifelong enthusiasm for motorsport and motorcycling. A keen spectator for many years, she’s now looking forward to getting involved behind the scenes at future races.

A passionate motorcyclist, Claire’s love of two wheels began early. “Some of my earliest memories are of Dad taking me to ballet lessons on the back of his Honda CB750 and Sundays watching classic bike trials across the south of England. I learnt to ride as soon as I could, on a Yamaha DT125 – back in the days before a CBT was required!” After taking a break from riding to raise her family, Claire returned to motorcycling ten years ago. “When my son decided he wanted to get his bike licence, I agreed on the condition we did it together. My dad couldn’t have been prouder when the three of us went on our first ride out.”

Her current bike is a Triumph Street Triple, and earlier this year she completed an impressive road trip to Nykøbing Mors in north-west Denmark – a long ride on a naked bike through rain, hail and some very wild winds!

Claire has a fondness for cars too. Over the years, she’s owned several characterful models including a Reliant Scimitar and an MGF, to name just a couple. Now, she’s keen to learn more about the cars raced within the club and to gain a deeper understanding of what makes each series unique.

Outside of motorsport, Claire loves all kinds of music. She plays trumpet with the Wessex Concert Orchestra and cornet with the Marshfield Brass Band, performing at a variety of locations, everything from the beautiful Malmesbury Abbey to local village fêtes. She also dabbles with the guitar – though she’ll happily admit she’s not very good at it!

Claire has enjoyed a varied career, including accountancy, photography, and the past 15 years in estate agency. She’s now excited to take on a new challenge and learn more about club racing.

“It’s exciting to be part of such a passionate and welcoming community. Thank you to everyone who made me feel so welcome at Thruxton and Oulton Park. I gained a real insight into how the club operates, and it was lovely to meet so many of the drivers, volunteers and committee members. I am looking forward to seeing everyone next season”.
