Newsletter 21.08.2026 for Adams and Page Swinging Sixties and Midland Classic Restorations Ecurie Classic K
Historic Racing remains at the core of the CSCC.
The Ecurie Classic K Series has attracted 108 registrations this year with an uplift in grid sizes over last year, combined with a further 12 registered Hawthorn Jaguars (supported by Suffolk Classic Services) which have proven to be a popular fit.
Swinging Sixties has a remarkable 183 Registered drivers and can boast full grids at Donington, Oulton Park and the upcoming Silverstone GP rounds.
At this time of the season, the Club is already making plans for 2027 and this year we will be asking members once more for constructive feedback so we can fine tune both the Sporting and Technical Regulations for both of these popular series, to further enhance your racing.
In the coming weeks, those who have registered in 2025 or 2026 will receive a driver’s survey with a number of specific questions on winner’s penalties, pit stops and other hot topics. You will also be able to raise any other issues for consideration by the club.
Please spare a few minutes to complete the survey form – your views are important to us and the more replies we get the more informed our decision making.
For Swinging Sixties, tyres are always a talking point. Our title sponsor Adams and Page, together with Yokohama continue to provide us updates on availability. Smaller wheel diameters are becoming more difficult to accommodate year on year as the manufacturers reduce production in favour of more modern diameters. Rest assured, the club is on it and will make announcements on tyres in good time for next season, so feel free to order fresh tyres to the end of season and then wait for the 2027 regulations in December time. Thank you to Adams & Page who have gone to great length to secure, purchase and then protect tyres for our members.
There are also questions in the Driver’s Survey on tyres for Ecurie Classic K too and we look forward to your feedback.
The Swinging Sixties Regulations have worked well for more than twenty years, with a steady evolution to move with the times, we have no major changes in mind. Efforts are always being made to ensure compliance with our simple rules, with measures taken to ensure fair play as far as possible, whilst always trying to accommodate the many and varied period cars that fall into this category. A few car specific tweaks may be applied before next season but more on this will follow in good time. This will likely only affect a very small minority of cars so don’t panic.
For Ecurie Classic K competitors, there will be no major changes to the technical regulations (subject to your survey feedback). We aim to accommodate as many period cars as possible. HTP is not a strict requirement in most cases providing cars are built to pre 1966 FIA Appendix K. Some relaxation of Appendix K may be accommodated at the club’s discretion but always with a view to fair racing. This year we have made a conscious decision to permit some GTP cars for the first time, bring us inline with a number of other organisers. These cars must have a valid HTP and for next year the Club is currently considering additional winners penalties and minimum weights for this particular category in line with other clubs – more to follow soon.
If you race in the Lackford Engineering Midget and Sprite Challenge, your season need not be over. All of your cars are eligible for at least one other CSCC category and with no extra registration fee to pay you may join us at our three remaining race meetings for the price of the entry fee alone. You would be very welcome to join our grids, please contact the office and they can let you know where you would best fit and update your account so you may book races.
Many of you attended and loved our Dinner Dance format of years past. As you will have read, the club has changed things up this time, for many important reasons. As you may have read earlier, we have tipped into reserves at Silverstone, but history has shown that most of the time drivers will gain a place if they are able to take a chance and not withdraw. We look forward to seeing more than 60 of you take to the track in just over two weeks’ time.
