Silverstone Spectacular, 1st June. Entries open today (Friday) at Midday.

The first of two visits to Silverstone, this time exclusively for our classic categories, racing on the compact National circuit. A simple looking layout and yet one that can produce some brilliant racing.

In action at this meeting (in no particular order) are:

JMC Racing Special Saloons & Modsports - The Mick Hill Memorial Race Advantage Motorsport Future Classics Berkshire Jag Components Jaguar Championship

MG Trophy Adams & Page Swinging 60s Mintex Classic K Mike Hawthorn Jaguar Challenge Lackford Engineering Midget & Sprite Challenge - Ted Reeves Memorial Trophy

This meeting marks a very special anniversary; 50 years ago the first Super Saloons races took part. One of the stand-out drivers from the period was Mick Hill, our deputy Series Representative, Dave Smith maintains this archive on his life and achievements: https://www.mickhill.co.uk/ A member of Mick's family has kindly agreed to come to Silverstone to present the awards.

In recognition of this anniversary and with the blessing of the Hill family we have commissioned a sticker, exclusively for registered drivers in our series. Thank you to Lisa Selby for the artwork and to Jeff Bloxham for granting permission to use part of the iconic CCC magazine cover shot. Please look out for forthcoming articles from Marcus Pye, in the motorsport press.

The 1970s and 1980s Advantage Motorsport Future Classics have their second (and final) taste of sprint races for the season, this time with a longer 25 minute qualifying session and 2 x 20 minute races, alongside our JMC Racing Special Saloons & Modsports cars, from a similar era.

The Lackford Engineering Midget & Sprite Challenge race winner will be presented with the Ted Reeves Memorial Trophy. Ted raced MG Midgets for 42 years, his family are coming along to present this unusual trophy, crafted from engine components.

Judging by your support so far this season, the Adams & Page Swinging 60s grid will sell out. Remember that we return to Silverstone, on the full Grand Prix circuit later in June. Swinging 60s Class A Midgets and Sprites: Why not give the Lackford Engineering Midget & Sprite Challenge a try at the same round? They are likely to have space on the grid and they have a tailor-made class for your car, with no changes needed. As an additional race you will receive a 50% discount on the second race entry fee too.

Members who have registered their cars can either enter online, or by using the entry form on our event page, where you can also find a provisional timetable:

Testing Testing is available on Friday 31st May, on the National layout, by booking directly with Silverstone: https://www.silverstone.co.uk/track-days/testing/2024-05-31-general-testing
