Thruxton Reflection

As race meetings go, this weekend at Thruxton was excellent. Not one Clerk's judicial on Saturday and the only points issued on Sunday was a single, accidental overtake under a neutralised race, well done all.
We had mixed weather on Saturday, but nice and dry on Sunday. A nip in the air suggested we've seen the start of Autumn.

Top work from the circuit staff and Marshals to clean up a few blown-engine oil spills over the weekend. Team work meant we still managed to fit in every race before the curfew.
An apology to those in the later races on Sunday, for prematurely running out of trophies. A box full were completely destroyed by the time the couriers had delivered them to the circuit, with no time to replace them. That said, we should have had more and we WILL do better in future. All drivers owed will receive an award the next time we see them.

Having spoken to official CSCC photographer, David Stallard, he set to work processing, sorting and uploading his photos overnight, without sleep! You can therefore view and buy his excellent snaps right now:
Highlights videos will follow next week, once Marc Peters has worked his magic. Look out for them on our YouTube channel and subscribe now. https://www.youtube.com/@ClassicSportsCarClub
Congratulations to our (provisional) champions of 2025.
Two drivers went into this event in a dead heat for Morgan Challenge honors, with both driving without fault and therefore sharing the title. This is the first time a draw has been declared in the championship's 40 year history.

With these final two races to go, the Ramair BMW Championship could have gone the way of Charlie Newton-Derby (MINI), Charles Heatley (MINI) or Graham Crowhurst (BMW M3).
In Graham's own words: The day threw everything at us, perfect start with Pole Position here for the 2nd year running, then the heavens opened for Race 1 and I had NO pace at all so went backwards to P7 but still won the class thankfully.
Then it dried for race 2 and had a mega race to seal the championship and finish P2 overall which is a much better way to end the year than Race 1’s awful performance!
An overall championship at last!!
Congratulations to our runners up, in what had been a season long battle in class R53. Had their inter-class rivalry not been so close, taking points from each other, then either could have foreseeably taken the overall title.

Jack Robinson had almost clinched the Alpha Lexis Law Firm Jaguar Championship title by Brands Hatch last month. Whilst Jack had to be careful, with James Wall in with a mathematical chance of catching him, Jack (provisionally) secured victory in style, winning both Thruxton races. It's been a brilliant season for the Jaguars.

Whilst the CSCC championships may be over, two of our series still have Spa this week, followed by many more heading to the fabulous Oulton Park, on Saturday 18th October. You still have time to enter now: https://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/oulton
