The MG Trophy has a long and illustrious history. In what is a crowded, championship arena, MG Trophy will evolve for 2026, to set itself apart from others.
Highlights
A series, not a championship, making it easier to pick and choose individual rounds.
Racing exclusively against other, fwd hatchbacks in the popular Co-ordSport Tin Tops.
More tracktime, 30 minute qualifying and a 40 minute pit-stop race.
Great value, clean racing, for single or two-driver teams.
Simple regulations, with classes for all existing MG ZR variants and treaded tyres.

Inclusion in the Co-ordSport Tin Tops Series introduces exciting new challenges, with 30 minutes of qualifying and a 40-minute race (yes, your fuel tank is big enough!) incorporating a mandatory pit stop.

The MG Trophy represents something distinct from the usual, mixed grids of old and new, front and rear-wheel-drive cars. Listening to drivers from the 2024 season, our 2026 programme will place cars of comparable weight, performance, and handling dynamics together on track, with other drivers who care for their cars.
The series visits a wide selection of circuits, featuring high-profile venues such as Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone GP, together with unique opportunities including day and night racing at Knockhill. Competitors can select as few or as many rounds as they choose, with many of them live-streamed.

Regulations remain straightforward; any car racing in a MG championship will be eligible here. Multiple classes will accommodate the most common 160, 170 and 190 ZR specifications. Those MG that are modified outside of the more normal specifications can race in our other classes or categories.
Draft regulations will follow soon, in the coming weeks, with registrations opening in December. In the meantime, please join our Facebook Group.
