Contents: New dates for Snetterton and new two day meeting at Thruxton.
Our Thruxton Thriller meeting now takes place on Saturday 1st May AND Sunday 2nd May
As you may have now seen, British Super Bikes this morning announced they are moving their Thruxton date to the last weekend in July. Whilst this falls one week after our previously scheduled single day, the number of race events Thruxton can run in a calendar month is restricted by law, meaning we were likely to need to move.
Thanks to the support you have already shown us this season we had already requested a second day at Thruxton, so when this became available very recently we were happy to accept. Every one of the CSCC’s eleven series will now race over the weekend, this becomes the first meeting of the year for the JMC Racing Special Saloons and Modsports. Following feedback from some of you the intention is that every CSCC series will have stand-alone races at this meeting. Overnight stays on site are confirmed, however, regrettably there is no Test Day on the Friday. We will timetable Verum Builders Open Series qualifying to be first on Saturday morning, for those who would like to use this for extra track time. Entries for our Thruxton Thriller meeting will open on Monday 22nd March at 15:00.
Snetterton
Our Snetterton 300 meeting is now on the weekend of 14th/15th August.
Following the Covid cancellation of our March Snetterton date, we have spoken to MSV on an almost daily basis, to find a new Snetterton date for you. Following some reshuffling and the above news about Thruxton, we were able to secure the weekend of 14th/15th August on the 300 circuit, with MSV’s help. Whilst a little closer than ideal to our Brands Hatch event, it does now give members 5 or 6 weeks to recover from our long-haul Spa and Knockhill events.
No-one likes changes, including ourselves and please accept our apologies to anyone this affects in a negative way. These are strange times, with many situations, like this, outside of our control. The new, updated calendar can now be viewed here.
Spa Summer Classic
Thank you to those of you who answered our simple poll on whether you were planning to attend our Spa races in June. As we said at the time, we were, and are, fully committed to attending. Your answers have helped shape our final conversations with our Belgian friends. Within the next few weeks we will open entries, bring you the latest facts on travel requirements and confirm the format of the races. Until then, please be patient. No one yet knows for certain what the travel requirements will be.
