The former Kumho BMW Championship is joining the CSCC for 2024! With the retirement of Trevor Ford, after 36 years of racing and organising, we are very proud that we were approached to continue and revitalise this long-running championship.
With a large number of BMW’s and BMW MINI's already racing across the CSCC's categories, we are well placed to help grow the grids back to their former glory. With supply of the ideal-sized Kumho slick tyre a challenge in 2023, the decision has been made to allow a wider choice of slick tyre in 2024 (in addition to MSUK listed treaded tyres), making it more accessible to those already competing in other categories.
With the help of driver's representative, Jason West, plans are now underway to include a new class for cars with sequential gearboxes, but in such a way that a level playing field is maintained.
The 20-minute CSCC BMW Championship races will take part on the opposing day to our Liqui Moly Slicks, WOSP New Millennium and Lohen Turbo Tin Tops races, to make for a less frantic schedule for those BMW's taking advantage of half-priced additional races.
A full calendar and draft regulations for the CSCC BMW Championship will be available shortly, as well as CSCC web page. We look forward to welcoming all drivers as CSCC members.
