First running in 2006 the Advantage Motorsport Future Classics series is extremely popular. It is designed for Sports, Saloons and GT cars (with doors) from the 1970's and 1980's. The series is sponsored by Advantage Motorsport, who run a popular online and Oulton Park paddock shop www.advantage-motorsport.co.uk
The series is split into 2 groups, for 1970s and 1980s cars with an overall winner for each decade. The class structure is based on engine capacity, allowing cars to battle it out all down the field and provide great entertainment - spectators can watch their favourite "retros" being driven in spectacular fashion! 2016 saw the introduction of separate groups for 1970's and 1980's cars and due to an increase in grid numbers we will be able to split the grid at our Donington Park meeting in September to run separate races for 70s and 80s cars.
Following the standard CSCC series format the races are run over forty minutes and include a mandatory pit-stop, so that two drivers may share a car and costs. A 30 minute qualifying session will take place on the same day. Entries may be either single drivers, two drivers sharing a car or a two car team.
All outright race winning cars/drivers (1970's and 1980's) will accumulate winners penalties to help stop one car dominating and to help keep racing budgets to a more sensible level.
